As most R&F don't really "read" the public version, is there a possibility that the GB knowingly entrap the unwary public with one line of thought while pursuing another in the study version?

Need some sage JWN advice

my daughter is in her 30's settled and teaching with a masters degree she got post her separation and divorce four years ago from a witness, she is remaried and happy.
we just celebrated our first xmas since joining jw in the early 80's.. my wife now has increasing bouts of extreme anger (that border on violence) directed primarily at me for wasting twenty years of her life and causing my daughter to have periodic problems with flashbacks and anxiety.

We just celebrated our first Xmas since joining JW in the early 80's.
My wife now has increasing bouts of extreme anger (that border on violence) directed primarily at me for wasting twenty years of her life and causing my daughter to have periodic problems with flashbacks and anxiety. I really don't blame her, I should have been smarter and not so wooed by the promise of a "spiritual paradise" and a new world that was just around the corner based on the fact that the 1914 generation was fast dwindling. Really, my motive was clearly selfish in wanting to be on the better side of God when the end (which I always believed in) came. At that time, being an RC I could see many problems with the emerging child abuse and hypochrisy that lead me to what I believed was a better hope. I would never put my family in harms way - but looking back I did when we became JW's.
I have tried reasoning and being outright sorry for putting my family through that, but it is no use. I love my wife dearly and I am trying to put those twenty years behind us. If I could wind the clock back to that instant I "listened" to the JW's I would not hestiate to send them packing. However, I live with my mistakes. There is not a day goes by that I am reminded of the lost years and I am beginning to become desparate. Anyone been though this or knows of a similar situation and could offer some insight?

WT Mar 15th 2012 - 144,000 no longer a literal number?
by dozy inreading idly through this magazine , i read the study article "rejoicing in our hope" which discusses the two "hopes" according to the wtbts ie heaven & earth.. a couple of points were of interest:.
(1) absolutely no mention at all of the 144,000 or rev 14. usually an article like this would be filled with references , but it isn't even mentioned.
it does discuss the "limited number" , but only in contrast with the "no man can number" great crowd.. (2) a much more laid back attitude towards the two hopes.

2011 Watchtower publisher statistics with analysis

as expected, it is following on from similar trends to the last 15 years.

In 14 years of records (I have put in Excel format) the number of publishers has increased 26% while the number of partakers has increased 35%. The rate of growth is now 2.9% per year on average - that means ever year 3 out of 100 publishers ascend to the 114K ring.
Also, I did a quick comparison of those the total baptized in 14 years vs. the difference between 1998 publishers and 2011 publishers. 2011 minus 1998 = about 1.8 million. Total baptized in that period = 3.9 million. I don't buy that the loss is all based on the natural birth/death rate as one would assume that the majority of those baptized in the last 14 years are generally healthy. There is a huge difference - 2.1 million unaccounted for or about 3.4% per annum (48% over 14 years).

it was a picture of a happy group of witnesses during a meeting for field service.
there was a. comment from a local high-horse-rider about a brother in the front row in the picture being disobedient.

Stillin: The guy without his km just made it to the meeting from work having been caught in an unforseen accident at a junction downtown, bro to his left loaned him his bible. I say the sister to his right has the hots for the elder up doing the chattin' maybe she is the disobedient one?

The Irony....(brother) Prince
by Simon Morley inso ("brother) prince is coming to town and he is quoted as saying that "as a baptized jehovah's witness he has put his past behind him".
on one hand he is allowed to put on such a concert that the gb states that baptized jehovah's witnesses should not go to.
would the gb frown on (brother) prince attending his own concerts?

Quarterback: Correct the GB never says you cannot, but the elders at convention, talks, assemblies, etc have no problem saying such. Elders = the GB mouthpiece to say they things they cannot. I was told that long ago in my early years as an elder.
